The Advocates for The Children’s Assessment Center hosted the Third Annual Advocate Through Art Party benefiting The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) on October 15th at Winter Street Studios. The event was an overwhelming success with nearly 400 guests in attendance, a live and silent art auction, delicious cuisine donated by Clark Cooper Concepts, cocktails, music by DJ Senega, break dancers and a Live Painting by Taft McWhorter. There were over 70 art pieces donated. Participating artists included: Gonzo 247, Kelley Devine, Mel DeWees, Ashley Henry, Peter Tunney and many more.

The Live Auction artwork included AUDREY, a piece by Peter Tunney; Mexican Midnight II by Meredith Pardue; Precipice by Mars Woodhill and a Texas Flag painting, part of Taft McWhorter’s Home Series. Also, included in the Live Auction were exquisite earrings by Valobra, which had been specifically designed for The Children’s Assessment Center’s event.

Event Chairs were Jordan Seff, Natalie Mohtashami and Ashlee Rubbo.  Guests included: CAC Foundation Board of Directors members Ericka Bagwell, Emily Essaye, Allison Flikerski, Yolanda Green, Lauren Maloy and Yvette Webb. Others present were Ben and Sarah Cotting, Javier and Lucinda Loya, Leti Morales and Rachael and Jason Volz.

The event raised over $250,000 for the expansion of training and education programs at The CAC which are critical to the prevention of child sexual abuse and the healing of young victims.

The Advocates for The Children’s Assessment Center hosted the Second Annual Advocate Through Art Party benefiting The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) on November 5, 2014 at Winter Street Studios.  The event was an overwhelming success with nearly 400 guests in attendance, a live and silent art auction, delicious cuisine generously provided by Clark Cooper Concepts, cocktails, and music by DJ Senega. Guests were entertained with parkour from Urban Movement, and artists Taft McWhorter and Gonzo247 completed live paintings during the event.  There were 40 exquisite art pieces donated.  Participating artists included:  Shane Pennington, Hunt Slonem (Gremillion & Co. Fine Art), Peter Lik, Mel DeWees, Peter Tunney, Mitch McGee, Ashley Henry Wynne and many more. 

The Live Auction artwork included an untitled painting of a Bunny by Hunt Slonem, generously donated by Gremillion & Co. Fine Art.  Also, included in the Live Auction was an exquisite piece by Mel DeWees entitled Departure II, as well ZEBRA by Peter Tunney.  Taft McWhorter entertained guests throughout the evening by doing a live painting of the Texas Flag, which was also included in the live auction. Last but not least, a sculpture made of copper wire created by Shane Pennington, entitled The Poet, rounded out the Live Auction art pieces. A beautiful hand-made bracelet, generously donated by Valobra, was also included in the Live Auction, as well as a racing package donated by Joe and Ashlee Rubbo.

Event Chairs were Emily Essaye, Allison Flikerski and Lauren Maloy.  Guests included: Ericka Bagwell, Nancy Golden, Ursaline Hamilton, Bruce Padilla, Elizabeth Peterson, Yvette Webb, and Laura Zehl. The event raised nearly $200,000 for the expansion of training and education programs at The CAC which are critical to the prevention of child sexual abuse and the healing of young victims.

The Advocates for The Children’s Assessment Center hosted the Inaugural Advocate Through Art Party benefiting The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) on November 20, 2013 at Winter Street Studios.  The event was an overwhelming success with over 350 guests in attendance, a live and silent art auction, delicious cuisine prepared by Celebrity Chef Monica Pope, cocktails, music by DJ Sun and even break dancers from Break Free Houston.  There were 28 exquisite art pieces donated.  Participating artists included:  Roberto Dutesco, Gary Komarin (Gremillion & Co. Fine Art), Peter Lik, local artist Mitch McGee, Ramsey Art, Peter Tunney and many more. 

The Live Auction artwork included a Rhinoceros piece by Peter Tunney, one of Gary Komarin’s “cake” images, Cake Stacked Single Sack generously donated by Gremillion & Co. Fine Art.  Also, included in the Live Auction was an exquisite piece by New York based artist Roberto Dutesco, as well as local Houston artist Mitch McGee’s Green Eyed Tondo, a unique hand cut piece on layered birch, oil stained and acrylic.  Last but not least, a striking Peter Lik piece, California Dreaming rounded out the Live Auction.

Event Chairs were Emily Essaye, Natasha Gorgue and Ashley Perkins, and fellow Advocates Board members Natalie Mohtashami and Marcela Vij were also vital members of the event committee.

Guests included:  CAC Foundation Board of Directors members Diane Caplan, David Key and John Sinders.  Others present were CAC Executive Director Elaine Stolte, Ben and Sarah Cotting, Lucinda Loya, Shane and Tara Treleaven, Jason and Rachael Volz, Jimmy and Megan Vondra and Hanson and Christine Yates.

The event raised $160,000 for the expansion of training and education programs at The CAC which are critical to the prevention of child sexual abuse and the healing of young victims.
