The Family Advocate works collaboratively with caregivers and the multidisciplinary team from initial investigation through resolution of the child’s case. Building rapport with the non-offending caregiver during the initial visit to The CAC is required to conduct a thorough needs assessment and to ensure understanding of investigative processes and dynamics of sexual abuse. Provides some case management and resource linkage to ensure child has access to medical, mental health, educational, and legal services. Conducts assessments, diagnostics, and treatment through individual, family, and group therapy, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-education, and resource coordination. Provides community outreach, professional presentations, and other duties as assigned.
