The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) Advocates hosted the 8th Annual Holiday Coffee on Thursday, December 3, 2015. Emily Essaye and Natasha Gorgue, Advocates for The CAC members and generous hostesses, welcomed supporters and friends into Natasha’s gorgeous home for this festive occasion to gather supporters and friends of The CAC. It was another successful Holiday Coffee event and guests opened their hearts showing incredible generosity bringing gifts and gift cards to brighten up the holidays for the children served by The CAC.

The morning was also filled with many holiday shopping opportunities that benefited The CAC including beautiful Holiday Cards and ornaments designed by children served by The CAC. COOPERATIVASHOP.COM brought an assortment of clothing and jewelry for the guests to browse, along with Ashley Henry Wynne who featured her angel art.  Yvonamor Palix, International Gallery Owner and Curator, showcased a collection of artwork by Alfredo DeStefano, Fabienne Bauer, Jack Pierson, Jane Liang, Mars Woodhill, Nathalie Regard, Page Piland, Romain Froquet, Sandy Skoglund, Susan Plum, Syd Moen, and Victor Rodriguez for all the guests to enjoy.  A special showcase that everyone enjoyed was the Holiday Tree by Regina Gust Designs. This tree was uniquely designed for The CAC and made for the fun and festive event! All artists present generously donated 20% of their proceeds to The CAC.  Thank you to all of the attendees for supporting The CAC during the holidays and year-round!

Elaine Stolte, Executive Director, welcomed guests and thanked them for their support. She also introduced the Spirit of Spring Event Chairs, Kelley Lubanko and Kelli Weinzierl.  The Event Chairs were excited to tell guests about the 17th Annual Spirit of Spring to be held on April 20, 2016. Board members in attendance included: Susan Boggio, Diane Caplan, Emily Essaye, Allison Flikerski, Kelley Lubanko, Lauren Maloy, Jordan Seff, Yvette Webb, and Kelli Weinzierl.

The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) Friends Guild Board hosted the 7th Annual Holiday Coffee on Thursday, December 11, 2014.  Heather Bragg, generous hostess and CAC supporter, opened up her beautiful home for this festive occasion to gather supporters and friends of The CAC.  Guests came to celebrate the season and help the children served by The CAC enjoy the holidays by bringing gifts and gift cards for them.  Everyone enjoyed mingling and delicious cuisine by Canopy, as well as the lovely sounds from harpist, Laurie Meister.

CAC Executive Director, Elaine Stolte thanked everyone for keeping the children served by The CAC in mind during the holidays and throughout the year.  She also introduced the 2015 Spirit of Spring Luncheon Event Chairs in attendance, Monica Blaisdell and Joanna Marks and invited all of the Friends of The CAC to support the upcoming event in April 2015!

The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) Friends Guild Board hosted the 6th Annual Holiday Coffee on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Ericka Bagwell, Friends Guild Board member and generous hostess, opened up her gorgeous home for this festive occasion once again to gather supporters and friends of The CAC. It was another successful Holiday Coffee event and guests opened their hearts showing incredible generosity bringing gifts and gift cards to brighten up the holidays for the teens served by The CAC.

The morning was also filled with many holiday shopping opportunities that benefited The CAC including beautiful Christmas ornaments designed by children served by The CAC. Longtime supporter of The CAC, Lisa Holthouse was in attendance with her children’s book, “It All Started With A Turtle” and generously donated 100% of the proceeds to The CAC. DruMichael Designs brought an assortment of jewelry for the guests to browse donating 10% of the proceeds to The CAC, along with Debbie Porter who featured her book, “Fabulous Phebe Dreams Big” generously donating 15% of proceeds to The CAC. UrbanHippyShop showcased a collection of pearl jewelry designs for all the guests to enjoy and generously donated 10% of the proceeds to The CAC.

A special showcase that everyone enjoyed was the Holiday Trees donated by Cheeky Vintage, Kendra Scott, New Living and Rice Village’s Finest Merchants that were auctioned at the event. Each tree was uniquely designed for The CAC and made for fun and festive auction bidding throughout the morning! Thank you to all of the attendees for supporting The CAC during the holidays and year-round!

The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) Friends Guild Board hosted the 5th Annual Holiday Coffee on Thursday, December 6, 2012.  Stephanie Perkins, Friends Guild Board member and generous hostess, opened up her beautiful home for this festive occasion to gather supporters and friends of The CAC.  It was another successful Holiday Coffee event and guests opened their hearts showing incredible generosity during the holiday season bringing toys, gift cards and donations for the children and teens served by The CAC.

The morning was also filled with many holiday shopping opportunities that benefited The CAC including beautiful Christmas ornaments designed by children served by The CAC.  Tiffany Natkin with Tickleprint and Natkin Cooks brought an array of stationery products, notecards with artwork from the children served by The CAC, Santa treats and cake balls, and generously donated 30% of the proceeds to The CAC.  Laurel Ross represented the Elizabeth Irvine Jewelry Collection and shared the jewelry with everyone donating 10% of the proceeds to The CAC.

A big hit of the morning that had everyone’s attention was the Celebrity Tree Auction.  The three trees were designed by Kenneth Cole, Rachel Roy and Jessica Simpson and were generously donated by Jane Dale Owen.  The guests enjoyed bidding on the one-of-a-kind divine trees!

Elaine Stolte, Executive Director of The CAC, thanked everyone for attending and for their support and involvement throughout the year.  The CAC is thankful for supporters such as the guests of the Holiday Coffee who help not only spread awareness, but also encourage prevention of child sexual abuse.  Ms. Stolte mentioned that many of the children served by The CAC would not receive gifts for the holidays without the support and generosity of supporters like the guests of the coffee and the many businesses and individuals that participate in The CAC Toy Drive. 

Stephanie Perkins, gracious hostess and one of the Event Chairs for the Spirit of Spring Luncheon, along with Ursaline Hamilton, also an Event Chair for the Spirit of Spring Luncheon, reminded everyone to save the date of April 5, 2013 for the 14th Annual Spirit of Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Westin Galleria.  This is the largest fundraising event for The CAC each year and Ms. Perkins encouraged all to attend.

Other CAC Guild Board Members in attendance included:  Ericka Bagwell, Anne Carl, Kimberly DeLape, Tena Faust, Nancy Golden, Ursaline Hamilton, Amy M. Lee, Stephen C. Lewis, Lucinda Loya, Kim Moody, Bruce Padilla, Stephanie Perkins, Alicia Smith and Merele Yarborough.

The Children’s Assessment Center Friends Guild Board hosted the 4th Annual Holiday Coffee on December 9, 2011.  Ericka Bagwell, Friends Guild Board member and generous hostess, opened up her gorgeous home for this festive occasion to gather supportersand friends of The CAC.  Guests showed incredible generosity during the holiday season bringing toys, gift cards and donations for the children and teens served at The CAC.

The morning was also filled with many holiday shopping opportunities that benefited The CAC including beautiful Christmas ornaments designed by children served at The CAC.  Dr. Carolyn Farb also joined the event signing her book, Lucas Comes to America, and donating 20% of the proceeds to The CAC.   Jewelry by Shamaine Klein Designs was available for purchase including a special charm designed for the event with 50 % of the proceeds donated to The CAC.  The Deborah Colton Gallery displayed artwork throughout Ericka Bagwell’s home for purchase, with 15% of the proceeds benefiting The CAC.  Thank you to all of the attendees for supporting The CAC during the holidays and year-round!

The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) Friends Guild Board hosted the 3rd Annual Holiday Coffee on December 10, 2010. Lucinda Loya, Friends Guild Board member and generous hostess, opened up her gorgeous home for this festive occasion to gather supporters and friends of The CAC. It was a perfect December morning and guests brought toys, gift cards and donations for the children and teens served at The CAC.

Mrs. Loya provided guests with a beautiful breakfast array and everyone enjoyed visiting and helping to make the children’s holidays brighter through their toy donations. Elaine Stolte, Executive Director of The CAC, thanked everyone for attending and for their support and involvement throughout the year. She also spoke about the One with Courage Campaign, The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. statewide campaign centered around the courage it takes to talk about child sexual abuse. Mrs. Stolte explained how it takes tremendous strength for young victims to come forward to talk about the abuse they’ve suffered and it takes courage for adults to recognize the signs of abuse and report suspected abuse. The CAC is thankful for supporters such as the guests of the Holiday Coffee who help not only spread awareness, but also encourage prevention of child sexual abuse.

Kimberly DeLape and Alicia Smith, two of the Event Chairs for the Spirit of Spring Luncheon, reminded everyone to save the date of April 1, 2011 for the 12th Annual Spirit of Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Omni Hotel. This is the largest fundraising event for The CAC each year and funds raised support the direct service programs which are critical to the hope and healing of these young victims. Thank you to all of the attendees for supporting The CAC during the holidays and year-round!
