Houston, Texas – The Advocates for The Children’s Assessment Center hosted the Third Annual Advocate Through Art Party benefiting The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) on October 15th at Winter Street Studios. The event was an overwhelming success with nearly 400 guests in attendance, a live and silent art auction, delicious cuisine donated by Clark Cooper Concepts, cocktails, music by DJ Senega, break dancers and a Live Painting by Taft McWhorter. There were over 70 art pieces donated. Participating artists included: Gonzo 247, Kelley Devine, Mel DeWees, Ashley Henry, Peter Tunney and many more.
The Live Auction artwork included AUDREY, a piece by Peter Tunney; Mexican Midnight II by Meredith Pardue; Precipice by Mars Woodhill and a Texas Flag painting, part of Taft McWhorter’s Home Series. Also, included in the Live Auction were exquisite earrings by Valobra, which had been specifically designed for The Children’s Assessment Center’s event.
Event Chairs were Jordan Seff, Natalie Mohtashami and Ashlee Rubbo.
Guests included: CAC Foundation Board of Directors members Ericka Bagwell, Emily Essaye, Allison Flikerski, Yolanda Green, Lauren Maloy and Yvette Webb. Others present were Ben and Sarah Cotting, Javier and Lucinda Loya, Leti Morales and Rachael and Jason Volz.
The event raised over $250,000 for the expansion of training and education programs at The CAC which are critical to the prevention of child sexual abuse and the healing of young victims.
