DESCRIPTION:CAC 2019 Partner Series \nIn 2019\, The Children’s Assessment Center will have a monthly presentation by a CAC Partner agency presenting valuable information to members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) on their roles and responsibilities in child sexual abuse cases in Harris County and what they need from the multidisciplinary team members and agency. Please come out\, learn and share with your MDT team members to better serve children and families in Harris County. \n  \nMemorial Hermann:\nThe Effects of Medical Child Abuse\n(Munchausen syndrome by proxy) and Physical Abuse\nWhat it means to the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)\nTuesday\, July 9\, 2019\n8:30 am– 9:00 am (Registration)\n9:00 AM—11:00 AM (Workshop) \n2.0 CEs: Social Work\, Professional Counseling\, Professional Education\, and Marriage & Family Therapy. \n\nObjectives-\nThis workshop is designed to help MDT members: \n1. Learn the various terms used to refer to MCA cases and be able to name different approaches to cases on the MCA spectrum.\n2. Recognize various manifestations of medical child abuse (MCA) cases\, along with the significant harm that typically results for MCA victims.\n3. Recognize and be able to identify characteristics of fractures and head injuries indicative of abuse.\n4. Understand and identify common childhood injuries and conditions that may be confused for maltreatment. \nWho Should Attend: This workshop is designed for CAC Multidisciplinary Team professionals involved in the criminal and civil child abuse investigations\, services delivery\, and the legal process. This workshop is restricted to The CAC and partner agencies staff members only (CPS\, Law enforcement\, Forensic Service\, etc.). \nHow to Register: \nThere is no fee for the workshop.
