Professional Development & Continuing Education

The CAC Training Department provides professional and quality training for professionals working in the field of child abuse, education, mental health services, law enforcement, medical services, child protection services, and the community at large. 

The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) meets the requirements for continuing education by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners, Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, and Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage & Family Therapists. The Children’s Assessment Center is a continuing professional education provider for the State of Texas. The Children’s Assessment Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.

The CAC Elaine D. Stolte Training and Conference Center provides classroom and meeting space for professionals and the community to receive quality training in a state-of-the-art building conducive to learning.

  

Trainings offered include:

  • Recognizing and Reporting Child Sexual Abuse
  • Overview of The Children’s Assessment Center & How Child Sexual Abuse is   Addressed in Harris County
  • Understanding the Dynamics of Child Sexual Abuse
  • Special Training: Law Enforcement or Schools

Speaker Request Program

The CAC strives to accommodate all requests in a timely manner, and we will respond to you within 2 – 3 business days.

Please note that there are fees associated with some trainings. Any fees will be discussed when we respond to confirm your training. (Typically if they are outside of Harris County or if CE hours are requested).
