To ensure child victims and their families receive complete support, The CAC’s Multidisciplinary Enhancement Initiative team unites professionals and agencies that include professionals in child welfare, mental health, medical, family advocacy, and other youth serving organizations to offer complete services.
Case Review:
Case review is a formal process where Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) professionals share facts and observations to help each other make informed choices about cases. It is a platform for professionals to share their expert knowledge, discuss cases thoroughly, and determine the best resources and recommendations for families. This core standard of accredited CAC facilitates comprehensive discussions to determine next steps.
Coordination:
Active case coordination by the MEI includes working with partner agencies to screen, assess, and make recommendations on open cases, following up on the status of investigations, and conducting MDT collaboration meetings. When MDT members work together more closely, communication is improved, and information is shared more effectively. Case coordination is an approach that fosters communication with MDT partners in order to identify cases requiring services, ensuring that those services are provided, which strengthens support for the CAC/MDT.
Coordinated responses ensure comprehensive support for children and families, preventing duplicated efforts and lessening potential trauma. This approach ensures families receive the necessary support for healing and recovery, empowering parents and caregivers to better protect their children.
