Spirit of Summer Volunteer Event Presented by Spindletop Community Impact Partners

Every year, we are able to give the children we serve a backpack, school supplies, and new uniforms. We provide bags to children to empower them with the tools necessary to have a great school year and ease family stressors during their recovery. This year, with the support of volunteers, we were able to stuff over 800 backpacks.

School Supplies

This year, we stuffed over 800 backpacks for the children we serve! We had over 50 community volunteers participate, including Spindletop Community Impact Partners, Inc, Memorial Drive United Women in Faith, Blue Water Shipping, Houston Young Lawyer’s Association (HYLA), and families.

We brought back our Back-to-School Party to kick-start the academic year in a new and improved way! The Museum of Natural Science was our generous host! We had over 70 community volunteers lead the activities and distribute backpacks to the children receiving services at The CAC. Our volunteers included Spindletop Community Impact Partners, Inc., Frost Bank, Hilcorp Energy Company, Texas Children’s Hospital, Astros Foundation, and Reinforcing Houston.

Thank you all for your support and hard work!

Spindletop Community Impact Partners, Inc. were our generous underwriters for our 2024 Spirit of Summer Volunteer Event for the fourth year in a row. Spindletop Community Impact Partners, Inc. has sustainably funded our essential programs and child-friendly facility since 1997. They have made a tremendous impact on our community, and we are so grateful for their continued support of the children and families we serve.

Thank you, Spindletop!
